Academic Support
Incoming students at Wayland take a BASC (Best Achievement Strategies for College) course that is designed to help them succeed. Students who have declared a major will take a discipline-specific class with their needs in mind. Courses are also available for students who have not yet declared a major. Students will connect with faculty, be encouraged to focus on their goal of earning a college degree, and learn about services available to help them succeed. The goal of the BASC course is to make the transition to college a little less stressful for students and their families.

Additionally, if your student is struggling to find an appropriate major, our Career Counseling office has resources to help your student find a career that would be a good fit.

Campus Safety
Your student's safety is a top priority for us. The University Police Department provides law enforcement protections to the campus community 24-hours a day.
The University Police website contains tips and emergency management information. A daily crime logs is open to public viewing for all crimes reported on the WBU campus.
The University Police also issue parking permits for campus parking.
Health and Counseling Services
Our Health Services office provides confidential services to WBU students at any time.
OurDisability Services office provides assistance and accommodations to students with disabilities.
In the Counseling Center, we aim to assist Wayland students with everyday problems and stresses, as well as other matters they wish to discuss. Wayland retains a full-time counselor to help students with personal and social concerns. We provide a secure, confidential environment where students are able to experience growth and healing by learning and practicing healthy, appropriate, problem solving skills.
